"My Life's Journey: A Story of Struggle and Resilience"

Reflecting on my life's journey,which has been marked by both triumphs and tribulations, I am filled with emotions today, my birthday, June 6th, 2024.Born on sunday,June 6th,1976, in picturesque Srinagar,my life has truly been a testament to the saying, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade." From the fond memories of my childhood to the challenges, I have faced, each moment has shaped me into what I am today. My early years in Srinagar were spent at Khanquh Moulla, followed by a move to our family home at
Lalbazar, "Darul Iftikhar," built by my grandparents. This house,  symbolizes their love and dedication to our family, grounding us in our heritage and values. As a shy and average student, I never excelled in sports or extracurricular activities, but my family's unwavering support and guidance have been my strength.

My education journey  began at Caset Experimental School, Srinagar, and later, I  moved to Green Land High School, Hawal, where I completed my 10th standard. I then attended Government Higher Secondary School, Soura, and subsequently, prestigious Gandhi Memorial College, Srinagar. However, I had to discontinue my studies in the second year of my B. Sc. program. My career started modestly as  a casual copyist in News Section of Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar.  Despite the initial setback, I resumed my studies through IGNOU, completing my degree and postgraduation in Public Administration. I also obtained a diploma in Journalism from the Institute of Journalism, New Delhi, and specialized in Journalism and Creative Writing from the British Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mumbai. 

I joined the Excise and Taxation Department as an executive staff member, and thus made my humble entry into Government Service. After  qualifying  the mandatory Departmental Examination of Excise and Taxation Sub Inspectors conducted by J&K Public Service Commission,I was promoted to Sub Inspector, Vigilance and Inspections wing of the department. I  later passed the Departmental Examination of Excise and Taxation Inspectors, conducted by J& K Public Service Commission, and was promoted to Inspector in the Recovery wing of the Department.

 I got married in 2010 ,and am blessed with three lovely children - Syed Arshad Gilani, Syeda Sarah Gilani, and Syed Murshad Gilani. They are my world, and their love gives me the strength to face life's challenges. Despite my professional achievements, my life has been marred by the betrayal
of my only friend, who has been waging a one-sided war against me without any apparent reason. This betrayal is painful reminder of life's harsh realities. The scars linger, but I refuse to let them define me.  Today, on my birthday, I reflect on my struggles, the lessons learned, and the stength gained. My children are my greatest joy, and writing is my passion and solace. This birthday, I promise to rise above the pain, find strength in my struggles, and never lose faith in the goodness of life. I will continue to cherish my family's love, embrace my passions, and stand tall against adversity.

 My story is a testament to the power of resilience, a reminder that no matterwhat life throws our way, we have the strength to overcome, to rise above, and to emerge stronger and wiser. One thing I will never compromise on  is falsehood and lying. I detest them and have developed an equal hatred for liars. I don't believe in cheating, breaching someone's trust, backbiting, and backstabbing. I have full faith in Allah and believe His decisions are always meant for my benefit.

As I look forward, I promise to uphold the values that define me. I will continue to seek truth, embrace the love and support of my family, and nurture my passions. I am determined to rise above past betrayals, find strength in my journey, and never lose faith in the inherent goodness of life. Today, I celebrate not just a birthday, but the resilence and strength that have brought me here.

 Well it was, April 30th, 2014  a blessed day , when my  wife  ( estranged ) gave birth to our second baby, luckily a beautiful daughter in Modern Hospital,Srinagar. Jannat Makeen Nizam ud Din Chishti

   Let me share with you, the story of my mother's father, my maternal grandfather, Magfoor o Marhoom  Nizam ud  din Chishti, a man who was truly an inspirational. Born in the year 1916 near Sona Masjid, Chishti Kocha, Fateh Kadak, Srinagar..He  belonged to the first generation of educated people of Kashmir. He worked in Central Excise and Customs, and ,was superannuated as Sectional Officer, in 1974. Throughout his life he exuded modesty, humility and simplicity. During his service, he wholeheartedly dedicated himself to his job. His dedication, integrity and honesty, earned him various appreciation letters and testimonials from his department. Despite being the first person of his family who was having a Government Job, my maternal grandfather always followed in the foot steps of his  paternal grandfather Hazrat Sheikh Radhu Chishti RA.
